Ik doe niet aan sport!”, was voorheen meestal mijn vaste antwoord als iemand over bewegen begon, en dat was ook precies wat ik tegen hem zei: "Ja, doei, echt niet dus hè, echt niet!" Maar de volgende dag stond ik op en jogde op m’n simpele sneakertjes volgens een simpel jog-schema en ik dacht daarna: nou, ik ben in dit kwartiertje dan wel ongeveer 4 keer hartstikke dood neergevallen, al was ik de helft van de tijd aan het wandelen, maar uiteindelijk was het toch best wel lekker en doe me nu maar een biertje, want ik heb ‘m verdiend. En zo ging dat dan 4 keer achter elkaar. Ik kreeg er zelfs schik in. "Als je nog meer gaat rennen moet je echt wel goede renschoenen kopen hoor Luun", zei iedereen, "want anders krijg je blessures." Dus ik goede renschoenen kopen. Roze Nikes. En met die roze Nikes zweefde ik over de Amsterdamse grachten en het ging allemaal helemaal volgens het simpele jog-schema en ik zou binnen een paar maanden non-stop 5 kilometer kunnen lopen, dat was het plan. Tot ik tijdens het verhuizen door m’n rug ging en een maand amper kon lopen, tillen en al helemaal niet kon rennen. Heel m’n jog-schema naar de klote! Godverdomme! En toen gebeurde er iets wat ik zelf nooit voor mogelijk had gehouden; ik miste het rennen. Ik miste het bewegen! Ik! Ik die in 33 jaar nog nooit aan sport had gedaan! Ik! Dus toen 2 weken geleden m’n rug weer okay was en ik weer kon rennen hier in de polder in Amsterdam-Noord stond ik om 6.00 ’s ochtends met tranen in m’n ogen te genieten van alle bloemetjes om me heen en daarna de opkomende zon en dan ondertussen de meest trancy trance-plaat van Armin van Buuren op m’n iPhone en godverdegodver wat was het leven toch eigenlijk prachtig!!! Ik ging dus initieel niet rennen om af te vallen. Ik ging rennen om m’n hoofd leeg te krijgen. Dat soort dingen. M’n alcoholverslaving inwisselen voor een endorfineverslaving, dat vooral. Gezond doen. De controle over m’n lichaam krijgen. Kijken of ik het kon. En ik kan het! Want ik was dus niet te dik ofzo. Echt niet! Maar ik ben de afgelopen 3 maanden wél 8 kilo afgevallen. En die kon ik stiekem best missen.
Wat een angstaanjagend stukje. Ik vind het schokkend dat er in je leven zomaar een moment kan komen waarop je gaat sporten. Of erger nog: Een moment waarop je gaat sporten en dat je er dan ook nog lol aan beleeft.
Als je het zo omschrijft, denk ik: Misschien moet ik ook eens gaan hardlopen. Ik denk dat ik stil in een hoekje ga zitten wachten tot dit gevoel overgaat.

En het vroege opstaan…..vergeet dat niet…..Ik sta al jaren doordeweeks om 05.00 uur en in de weekenden hooguit om 08.30 uur op. Dat is beter dan zo’n late start, daar wordt je sloom en zo niet actief van! En om je dag dan te beginnen met een stukkie hardlopen, dat is inderdaad heerlijk. You go girl!
